No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would grant discretion to school boards as to whether to address a complaint concerning a student's participation in an extracurricular activity that does not violate a right guaranteed by Chapter 26, Education Code.

Local Government Impact

Districts that currently incur costs related to complaints about student participation in extracurricular activities that do not involve violations of Chapter 26, Education Code, may experience savings.
