FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 23, 2015

TO:
Honorable Larry Phillips, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2241 by Murr (Relating to the carrying of concealed handguns by certain county officers and employees in a courthouse.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to expand the defense to prosecution for the offense of possession of a weapon in prohibited places under certain circumstances for licensed county officers and employees. This analysis assumes implementing the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies, programs, or workloads.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
