IN RE:
HB2244 by Zerwas (relating to the regulation of medical waste; adding and amending provisions subject to a criminal penalty.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 361, Health and Safety Code to give the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) authority over regulating medical waste and change certain requirements and regulations relating to medical waste. TCEQ indicates that rulemaking activities and the revision of existing documents, policies, and procedures necessary to implement the bill can be absorbed within available resources.
