No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code providing first responders, including law enforcement, fire protection personnel, volunteer firefighters, and certified emergency services personnel, with immunity from liability for civil damages, provided he or she acted in good faith and did not commit gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
