IN RE:
HB2438 by Thompson, Senfronia (Relating to postconviction forensic DNA analysis.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to limit a convicted person filing a motion for forensic DNA testing of evidence to testing of evidence that has a reasonable likelihood of containing biological material for purposes of challenging a conviction.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact
