IN RE:
HB2445 by White, James (Relating to conduct that constitutes the offense of displaying a firearm in a public place.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Penal Code to remove the displaying of a firearm or other deadly weapon in a public place in a manner calculated to alarm from a list of offenses under Chapter 42, Penal Code. The bill would remove the offense from a list of offenses that would affect the employment of certain individuals.
Local Government Impact
There would be a loss of revenue to local entities due to the fines associated with the offense; however, those costs would be offset by savings from enforcement and prosecution of the offense. No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
