LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 24, 2015

TO:
Honorable John Zerwas, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2483 by Zerwas (Relating to a maximum tuition rate under a fixed tuition price plan.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill allows a school to offer a maximum tuition rate if the school only offers a fixed tuition price plan. The institution's tuition charges may then vary between semesters during the period covered by the fixed tuition price plan, but the tuition charges may not exceed the established maximum tuition rate. Institutions of higher education have indicated that provisions of the bill would not have a fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
