IN RE:
HB2592 by Phillips (Relating to the operation of ready-mixed concrete trucks on public roadways in this state; modifying provisions subject to a criminal penalty.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to authorize the issuance of annual ready-mixed concrete truck permits to volumetric ready-mixed concrete trucks for operation on public roadways under certain conditions prescribed by the bill.
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) indicates that implementation of the bill would result in an increase the number of vehicles eligible for ready-mixed concrete truck permits and that would apply for permits. Based on the analysis provided by the DMV, it is assumed the issuance of additional permits would result a positive but insignificant impact to permit fee revenue. Based on the information and analysis provided by the DMV and the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
