The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the prescribing and ordering of Schedule II controlled substances by certain advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants. Based on information provided by the Texas Medical Board, the Board of Nursing, the Board of Pharmacy and the Department of State Health Services, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
