IN RE:
HB2677 by González, Mary (relating to training for employees of school districts and open-enrollment charter schools on the prevention of sexual abuse and other maltreatment of certain children.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require training for employees of school districts and open-enrollment charter schools on the prevention of sexual abuse and other maltreatment of children to be expanded to include children with significant cognitive disabilities in both educational and noneducational settings.
Local Government Impact
Districts would need to update their training concerning prevention techniques for and recognition of sexual abuse and maltreatment of children to include children with significant cognitive disabilities. Costs to update trainings would be expected to be minimal.
