No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to permit a county to adopt a requirement that an electronic document filed with the county clerk have certain features. After the first anniversary of adoption, the county clerk may charge an additional fee for an electronic document that does not have certain features. The fee must not exceed $3 for a document recorded on or after the first anniversary but before the second anniversary and $5 for a document recorded after the second anniversary.
