IN RE:
HB2725 by Goldman (Relating to the operation of a movable temporary branch polling place during early voting.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to permit a movable polling place to be changed only after the polling place has been open for at least two days of voting at a current location. The bill would require early voting by personal appearance at a movable temporary branch polling place to be conducted for at least eight hours on each day voting is conducted.
Local Government Impact
There would be costs associated with the provisions of the bill. The costs to each political subdivision would vary based on the number of movable polling places established in an election, voter turnout, and the size of each jurisdiction.
