IN RE:
HB2725 by Goldman (Relating to the days and hours that early voting is conducted by personal appearance.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to require early voting by personal appearance at a permanent or temporary branch to be conducted during the same days and hours as at the main early voting polling place. The early voting clerk would be required to post notice for each election stating the dates and hours on a Saturday and Sunday that voting would be conducted at a temporary branch polling place.
The bill would repeal Section 85.064 and 85.065, Election Code.
Local Government Impact
There would be costs associated with the provisions of the bill. The costs to each political subdivision would vary based on the number of temporary branch polling places established in an election, voter turnout, and the size of each jurisdiction.
