No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to permit a law enforcement agency or municipal parking enforcement authority to use an automatic license plate reader. The bill would require images and data produced from the device to by destroyed by the 90th day after the date of collection unless the data is evidence in a civil action or criminal investigation or prosecution.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
