The bill would require school districts to adopt a policy providing that only persons of the same biological sex could be present at the same time in any bathroom, locker room, or shower facility in a building owned by the district, would provide for alternate accommodations for students who identify with a gender different that their biological sex, and would provide liabilities for violations of policy.
Local Government Impact
There could be costs to school districts depending on the options selected to provide alternate accommodations, including construction or modification of existing facilities. There could be additional costs from lawsuits. These costs could vary from district to district.
