HB2825 by Coleman (Relating to the provision and administration of indigent defense services.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to permit the Texas Indigent Defense Commission to make a grant award directly to an entity providing administrative services to counties participating in an interlocal contract related to improve the provision of indigent defense services and would permit the Texas Indigent Defense Commission to participate in an interlocal contract with one or more counties to develop and maintain a computerized indigent defense case management system.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
