Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2928 by Guillen (Relating to enrollment in public schools by a child without a parent, guardian, or other person with legal control of the child under a court order.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would repeal Section 25.002(f), Education Code, requiring a child's parent or guardian or other person with legal control to enroll the child in public school and to require the district to record the name, address, and date of birth of the person enrolling a child.
The Texas Education Agency anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
