HB3020 by Guerra (Relating to the offense of passing a school bus; increasing a fine.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to increase a fine of the offense of passing a school bus from $500 to $750. The bill would require a court to order a suspension of a driver's license if the person is convicted of a second and subsequent offense.

The Office of Court Administration reported no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

There could be an increase of revenue from fines imposed under the provisions of the bill. Revenue gain from fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact.
