FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 29, 2015

TO:
Honorable Richard Peña Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3035 by Martinez, "Mando" (Relating to a study on the savings to the state achieved by the expansion of Medicaid managed care in regards to the provision of prescription drugs and other pharmacy benefits.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to conduct a study on the accuracy of the Legislative Budget Board's estimate for cost savings resulting from the changes in law made by Chapter 7 (SB7), Acts of the 82nd Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2011. HHSC would be required to submit a report of the findings to the governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker of the house of representatives by December 31, 2016.  It is assumed that HHSC could implement the provisions of the bill within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
