No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to modify the offense of a person intentionally refusing to give certain information to a peace officer who has requested the information from the person to include lawfully detained persons or persons who are believed to have witnessed a crime.

Local Government Impact

There could be an increase of revenue from fines imposed under the provisions of the bill. Revenue gain from fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact.
