No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would specify the requirements for third-party entities to electronically submit benefit applications to the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). The bill would require HHSC to develop minimum standards and technical requirements for the third-party entities to submit the benefit applications. To implement the bill, HHSC may need to modify the Texas Integrated Eligibility Redesign System and Eligibility Supporting Systems. HHSC assumes that any technology costs to create new interfaces with new third-party entities would be charged to the entity as provided for in the bill. HHSC indicates that any other costs to implement the provisions of the bill can absorbed within existing resources.
