HB3180 by Schofield (Relating to the canvass of election returns for the offices of governor and lieutenant governor.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code to require election returns for the governor and lieutenant governor be canvassed by the Office of the Attorney General.  The bill would take effect January 1, 2018 only if the related constitutional amendment is approved by voters.  If the amendment is not approved, the bill would not take effect.

The Office of the Attorney General and the Secretary of State indicated the costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
