No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require certain entities who a employ qualified retired law enforcement officers as a peace officers to issue an identification card to the officers. The bill sets for the requirements of the identification card. The bill would permit certain entities to reissue a card if a card is lost or stolen and require an officer to submit an affidavit stating the card was stolen or lost.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

The County of Dallas and Bexar reported no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
