No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to require certain entities who employ qualified retired law enforcement officers as peace officers or who appointed or employed a qualified law enforcement officer for 20 years or more to issue an identification card to the officers. The bill sets for the requirements of the identification card. The bill would require the entities to reissue certain cards if a card is lost or stolen if an officer submits an affidavit stating the card was lost or stolen.
