LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 1, 2015

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3283 by Zerwas (Relating to contributions and registrations for an anatomical gift registry; authorizing a fee.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to allow individuals who are obtaining their driver's licenses to donate any amount to the anatomical gift registry. Funds collected for this purpose are deposited with the Comptroller to the credit of the Glenda Dawson Donate Life - Texas Registry Fund.

The Department of Public Safety has indicated the estimated revenue increase resulting from the bill is indeterminate because these donations are voluntary and the amount of donation would vary among individuals.

It is assumed any costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within current agency resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
