LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 25, 2015

TO:
Honorable Allen Fletcher, Chair, House Committee on Emerging Issues In Texas Law Enforcement, Select

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3317 by Sanford (Relating to continuing education requirements regarding autism awareness for peace officers.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code to require peace officers to complete a training and education program related to autism awareness once every two years. This analysis assumes that implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing Commission on Law Enforcement resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
