No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill amends Chapter 2156 of the Government Code, concerning purchasing methods, to expand the Comptroller's role with regards to interstate compacts, agreements or cooperative purchasing agreements by authorizing the Comptroller to participate in, sponsor, conduct, or administer such compacts or agreements. The Comptroller anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
