HB3374 by Morrison (Relating to information regarding Down syndrome.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code by adding a subchapter related to Down Syndrome. The bill would require that health care providers, upon receipt of a positive test for Down Syndrome, provide expectant parents and parents with educational material made available by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). The bill would also require that DSHS make certain information related to Down Syndrome available on the DSHS website. DSHS and the Texas Medical Board indicate that implementation of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
