No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would repeal Section 30.00676 (b) of the Government Code. The bill would allow the City of Houston the option of providing electronic recordings of proceedings in the municipal court of record.
 
The Office of Court Administration indicated no significant fiscal impact to the state judiciary is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

The City of Houston reported there would be costs to implement the bill including operational and installation costs; however these costs would be offset by savings from no longer utilizing an outside contract court reporter. No significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
