LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 8, 2015

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3520 by Muñoz, Jr. (Relating to the disposition of permit fees for the movement of oversize or overweight vehicles on certain highways.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Transportation Code Section 623.323, relating to the disposition of permit fees issued by the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority for the movement of oversize/overweight vehicles on certain roadways, to require 25 percent of each permit fee collected to be sent to the municipalities responsible for maintenance of the roadways and 60 percent to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Based on the information and analysis provided by the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed implementation of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the state.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
