No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require certain entities to broadcast each open meeting of the entity on the entity's website in the manner prescribed by Section 551.128, Government Code.

There would be costs of an entity to comply with the bill. The costs would depend on the number of meetings an entity holds and the resources of each entity.
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority reported estimated initial first year costs of $37,000 to $48,000 for implementation expenditures and equipment and an estimated cost of $12,000 to $18,000 each year after the initial year for operations to comply with the provisions of the bill.
The Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority reported estimated initial first year costs of $30,000 to comply with the provisions of the bill.
The Grayson County Regional Mobility Authority reported an estimated one time cost of $25,000 for equipment and licensing and an estimated cost of $130 to $700 per month for operations.
The North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority reported an estimated one time cost of $20,000 for equipment and an estimated cost of $12,000 per year for operations. The Authority reported due to the Authority holding board meetings in different locations for each meeting , it anticipates additional costs to transport and set up equipment at each meeting.
The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority reported an estimated cost of $13,788 in FY 2016, including video steaming equipment and increased internet capabilities. The Authority reported an estimated yearly cost of $11,988 in FY 2017- FY 2020 to comply with the provisions of the bill.
The Forth Worth Transportation Authority reported costs of $29,174 to $32,774 for FY 2016- FY 2020 including operational costs, recording equipment, and new staff to comply with the provisions of the bill.
Harris County reported an estimated cost of $162,000 in FY 2016 and costs of $47,250- $54,698 in FY 2017-FY 2020.
