HB3620 by Isaac (Relating to the acquisition of real property by a municipality.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to prohibit an authorized municipality from acquiring real property located outside the corporate boundaries and extraterritorial jurisdiction unless the municipality obtains certain written consents, waives its right to exempt the property from ad valorem taxes, and agrees to make a certain payment.

Local Government Impact

The Texas Municipal League reported no significant impact to cities is anticipated.
