LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 21, 2015

TO:
Honorable John Zerwas, Chair, House Committee on Higher Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3670 by Naishtat (Relating to an environmental service fee charged by an institution of higher education.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends the Education Code to allow an environmental services fee to be charged after the fifth academic year in which the fee is first charged, if approved by a majority vote of participating students in a general student election called for that purpose. This analysis assumes that any costs for institutions of higher education to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
