No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Government Code to amend the categorization of reporting violations with the Ethics Commission and to require the Commission resolve reporting violations in the form corresponding to the type of violation committed. The Ethics Commission would be required to adopt rules necessary to implement the bill no later than December 1, 2015. It is anticipated that any costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within current resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
