IN RE:
HB3710 by Blanco (Relating to a voluntary contribution to the fund for veterans' assistance when applying for a concealed handgun license.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to allow for a voluntary contribution in any amount to the Fund for Veterans Assistance Account 0368 when a person applies for an original or renewal license to carry a concealed handgun. The bill would require the Department of Public Safety to remit contributions for Fund 0368 to the Comptroller, and would authorize DPS to retain money in an amount necessary to cover reasonable expenses.
It is assumed the costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
