No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the General Land Office (GLO) to evaluate the possible use of state-owned land within 25 miles of the Texas-Mexico border or inside the cattle fever tick permanent quarantine line for purposes of border security. GLO would be required to complete the study no later than September 1, 2016. GLO indicates that it can implement bill provisions within the agency's existing resources.
