IN RE:
HB3731 by Leach (Relating to the database used to provide criminal justice agencies with real time information about releasees from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the notification to local law enforcement of the release of certain inmates, and notice of a warrant issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice regarding a person released on parole.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to requirements for the database used to provide criminal justice agencies with information about Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) releasees, the notification to local law enforcement of the release of certain inmates, and notice of a warrant issued by TDCJ regarding a person released on parole. TDCJ and the Board of Pardons and Paroles indicate any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
