No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend portions of the Agriculture Code relating to individuals or laboratories that perform official tests for equine infectious anemia. Under the bill, the Animal Health Commission (TAHC) would adopt rules to require an individual or laboratory performing an official test be approved by the TAHC.
Based on information provided by TAHC, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
