No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code to require the board of trustees of a school district, in consultation with local law enforcement agencies and the election administrator, to develop security guidelines for school district property selected for use as a polling place. The bill would permit a board of trustees to contract for the presence of law enforcement or security personnel for the purpose of securing the polling place. Under the provisions of the bill, the board of trustees would be required to provide security guidelines to the local law enforcement and the board of trustees and the elections administrator would be required to file an affidavit with the Secretary of State confirming the security guidelines have been developed. The bill would require the Secretary of State to prescribe the form required and adopt rules for the administration of the provisions of the bill.
