LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 27, 2015

TO:
Honorable Myra Crownover, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3999 by Naishtat (Relating to the exemption of certain persons from licensure as a professional counselor or social worker.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code as it relates to certain exemptions from licensure as a professional counselor or social worker. The Department of State Health Services indicates that any increase in workload associated with updating public information related to licensure exemptions can be accomplished within existing resources. This analysis assumes there would not be a significant increase in the number of persons seeking licensure as a professional counselor or social worker.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
