IN RE:
HB4053 by White, James (Relating to posting certain comprehensive annual financial reports on the Internet.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require a political subdivision that maintains a website to post a comprehensive financial report or a comparable financial statement to the website.
Local Government Impact
No significant administrative costs are anticipated for local school districts. School districts that maintained an Internet website would be required to continuously post the most recent comprehensive annual financial report (AFR). School districts that do not currently post the comprehensive AFR could add a link to the TEA website where all submitted AFRs are available for public viewing.
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
The El Paso County 911 District reported due to the provisions of the bill, there would be savings to the district for no longer printing or mailing the report to certain parties if it were available on the district's website.
