No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code to clarify that rules governing civil suits in the district court apply to an election contest in the district court for the purposes of awarding of attorney's fees and costs of suit as per the governing rules of civil suits in district court. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
