No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Health and Safety Code to increase the limit for cancer prevention and control awards provided by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) from 10 percent to 20 percent of the total awarded each year. Any costs associated with implementing the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
