IN RE:
SB142 by Garcia (Relating to the appointment and training of volunteer deputy registrars; creating an offense.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code to require the Secretary of State to post certain materials related to the training of Deputy Voter Registrars to the website.

The Secretary of State indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

A Class B misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of not more than $2,000, confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 180 days, or both. Costs associated with enforcement, prosecution and confinement could likely be absorbed within existing resources. Revenue gain from fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal implication.
