No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Health and Safety code to require the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas to perform an analysis of options for financial self-sufficiency and submit a plan based on that analysis to achieve self-sufficiency no later than December 1, 2016. It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed with the agency's existing resources.
The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving two-thirds majority vote in each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.
