IN RE: | SB381 by Uresti (Relating to tort liability arising from a volunteer's operation of a Parks and Wildlife Department motor-driven vehicle or motor-driven equipment.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code to grant a volunteer for the Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) immunity from civil liability for damages resulting from operation or use of a motor-driven vehicle or motor-driven equipment owned by TPWD and used within the course and scope of the volunteer's assignment. The bill would require TPWD to compensate a claimant for such damages from existing funds up to the amount specified in the Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
Based on the analysis of the Parks and Wildlife Department, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
