LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 4, 2015

TO:
Honorable John Otto, Chair, House Committee on Appropriations

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB574 by Watson (Relating to the creation of the State Cemetery preservation trust fund.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would create the State Cemetery Trust Fund.  The fund would consist of money transferred, appropriated to the fund, or  received and deposited by the State Cemetery Committee.  The fund would only be used to maintain, renovate or repair the State Cemetery.

This legislation would do one or more of the following: create or recreate a dedicated account in the General Revenue Fund, create or recreate a special or trust fund either with or outside of the Treasury, or create a dedicated revenue source.  The fund, account, or revenue dedication included in this bill would be subject to funds consolidation review by the current Legislature.

The Texas Facilities Commission anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2015.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
