LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 26, 2015

TO:
Honorable Dan Patrick, Lieutenant Governor, Senate

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB699 by Eltife (Relating to the Texas Real Estate Commission and the regulation of certain real estate professionals.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated; the authorized fee is only increased contingent on passage of SB765 or similar legislation, which would offset any revenue increases that result from the passage of SB699. If SB765 does not pass, the fee is not increased.

The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the Texas Real Estate Commission and the regulation of certain real estate professionals; increasing a fee; authorizing a fee. The fee would only be increased contingent on passage of SB765 which reduces other fees.

Based on information provided by the Comptroller of Public Accounts, Real Estate Commission, Office of the Attorney General, and the State Office of Administrative Hearings, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities necessary to implement the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing staff and resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
