No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Higher Education Coordinating Board (Board) to establish and administer a textbook affordability pilot program at a public institution of higher education. The Board shall designate one academic department of the selected eligible institution to implement the pilot program. Under provisions of the bill, the Board would be required to report on the success of the pilot program. On request by the Board, the institution selected to participate in the pilot program shall assist in preparing the report. This analysis assumes that any costs for selected institution and the Higher Education Coordinating Board to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
