No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Utilities Code relating to the authority of the Public Utility Commission of Texas to review transmission interconnections that enable imports or exports from the ERCOT power grid. Based on information provided by the Public Utility Commission and the Office of Public Utility Counsel, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

Local Government Impact

Municipally owned electric utilities may incur costs associated with proceedings for certificates of convenience and necessity.
